What Is an Empowerment?
An empowerment is a Buddhist blessing ritual and guided meditation through which we make a deep connection with a Buddha’s enlightened mind, bringing peace, hope, and happiness to ourselves and others.
Why Receive the Empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni?
On this special day Gen Kelsang Khacho will grant the blessing empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni. Through receiving these special blessings and teachings, we can awaken our spiritual potential and make a special connection to the enlightened beings, the Buddhas.
Commentary to the Liberating Prayer
Gen Khacho will also give commentary to the Liberating Prayer, a beautiful praise to Buddha that is recited at the beginning of teachings and meditations in Kadampa Buddhist Centers all around the world.
This special prayer, composed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, helps us to develop deep faith in Buddha and feel inspired to practice his teachings. Through practicing what Buddha taught, we can transform our life and experience profound inner peace and happiness.
