Fredag 11 april öppnar Native American Fashion – från rötter till runway.

Den helt nya utställningen öppnar på plan 4, men hela huset kommer som vanligt att vara öppet och levande.
Denna gång fylls museet av samtida gatumode och extravaganta aftonklänningar som bland annat möter smycken och mockasiner.
I utställningen Native American Fashion medverkar 40 samtida designers från USA och Kanada. Under kvällen närvarar en 10-tal av dessa för att hålla workshops och samtal.

För många av dessa skapare är det en stark drivkraft att visa att man fortfarande finns trots kolonisering, tvångsassimilering, stulen mark och brutna fördrag. Det blir en färgstark invigning med hantverksworkshops, konsert och dans.

Welcome to the opening of Native American Fashion - from roots to runway, on Friday, April 11.

The new exhibition opens on the 4th floor, and as usual the whole building will come alive.
This time the museum will be filled with contemporary street fashion and extravagant evening gowns next to jewellery and moccasins, among other things. The Native American Fashion exhibition features 40 contemporary designers from the United States and Canada. Around 10 of them will be present during the evening to hold workshops and talks.
For many of these creators, there is a strong motivation to show that they still exist despite colonization, forced assimilation, stolen land and broken treaties. This will be a colourful opening with craft workshops, concerts and dance.
