Experience the Alberta Premiere of 1910: The Uncovering!Discover one of Canada’s most tragic and powerful mountain stories through film, conversation, and community as part of our Land of Thundering Snow exhibit programming.
The Canmore Museum is proud to present the Alberta premiere of 1910: The Uncovering, a 27‑minute documentary that sheds light on the deadly 1910 Rogers Pass avalanche, Canada’s deadliest avalanche, which claimed the lives of 58 mostly Japanese railway workers clearing snow from the tracks.
This gripping film not only recounts the avalanche’s devastating impact and historical significance, but also follows two present‑day researchers - a Vancouver businessman and a Japanese‑born ski guide - whose unlikely friendship and shared mission to uncover the truth bring depth, humanity, and connection between past and present.
