Weds 9th September, 7pm to 10pm
Autumn, when all the flowers turn into fruits.
It's a stunning season to enjoy the fruits, whether it is available from cultivated plants or from wild plants and trees.
This workshop hosted by the wonderful Mel at Barehealth, Congleton, brought to you by Emma, Wild Pickle and this is focusing on the Autumn season and creating a fermented chutney from all that the season offers.
There is much more to this than it sounds, this is hands-on and you will leave with a jar of foraged fruits, veg, herbs and spices to enjoy within days of creating from the wonderful magical world of microbial transition! We will also explore how to create a live fermented soda drink from what is available to us and other ways to preserve what we harvest and forage for this Autumn. Think root veg kimchis, awesome sauerkrauts too!
Very excited to be creating more workshops in line with the season we are in and with the ingredients that we have available to us.
We will enjoy seasonal tasters of what is possible to created with using lacto fermentation. we will explore the science, the wherefores and whys to making a safe ferment and enjoying the season with live foods.
The tasters will involve seasonal live sodas, seasonal chutneys, sauerkrauts, kimchis, cultured cheeses, crackers and other delights for you to enjoy.
There will be an e-book with recipes that have been tried tested and enjoyed by Emma from Wild Pickle who has been fermenting for 15 years and this is the 11th year of running Wild Pickle Workshops. Her quest is to spark inspiration and keep your interest piqued and your curiosity growing for the expansive world of fermentation.
