Whether you know it as the Pagan Thanksgiving, Harvest home, Mabon, Meán Fómhair, Alban Elfed, Dożynki, or by any other celebratory name, come and celebrate the Autumnal Equinox with us on Saturday, September 20th, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Bay County (aka UU). The day’s activities and ritual will begin at 12:00 and will be facilitated by BT. Come with a dish to share at the ritual thanksgiving feast.
Event Times: (central time)
12:00-12:20 PM: Meet and greet
12:20-1:00 PM: Autumnal craft (autumn blessing bundles)
1:00-1:30 PM: Begin open ritual
1:30-2:00 PM: Set up for feast
2:00-3:30-ish PM Feast
3:30-ish PM Finish ritual with cleanup to begin immediately upon ritual end.
Please stay after ritual to help with clean up and reset the UU for the next day Sunday service. This will include washing dishes, sweeping the floor, cleaning and putting away dining tables, and placing the chairs to their proper place. Thank you in advance for this help.
What to Bring:
• Dish to share at the feast portion of the ritual – bring enough for you (and any accompanying family members), plus one other person. (NO ALCOHOL.)
• Bring a card with the ingredients of your dish, for information for those with dietary restrictions.
Optional Items to Bring (though they are optional, they are truly appreciated)
• Money donation to the Lyceum of the Sacred Tree (any amount helps and will be used for supplies, grounds maintenance, or building fund)
• Money donation to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Bay County (any amount helps and will be used to support the fellowship.) (For more information, see www.uuofbaycounty.com)
