The 2024-25 season starts with Tchaikovsky's most popular symphony and arguably his best work. The strict translation of his Russian name for the sixth symphony is 'passionate', but it is universally known by its French name: Pathétique.
The concert opens with Carl Nielsen's concert overture Helios depicting the sun rising and setting over the Aegean sea.
We are delighted to be joined by Violinist Maja Horvat and Cellist Akito Goto for a performance of Brahms' last orchestral composition - his 'Double' concerto for Violin, Cello and orchestra.
A special price family ticket is available for this concert. Admits 3 to 5 people: minimum one child, maximum two adults.
