Thomas Pynchon is considered one of the greatest American novelists, though little is known about him personally. He has written Gravity's Rainbow, Vineland, Inherent Vice, and more. Now in his late eighties, many Pynchon fans were surprised but delighted when his newest novel, Shadow Ticket, was published last month. Join us for a discussion of Thomas Pynchon, with a focus on his latest book: Shadow Ticket.
Our panelists will include Professor Terry Reilly, Professor Jericho Williams, and Ayden Harris.
A literature professor at UAF, Terry Reilly has published essays about Thomas Pynchon in The Yale Review and Pynchon Notes, among other publications, presented research at International Pynchon Week eight times, and taught four classes on the works of Thomas Pynchon.
Jericho Williams is assistant professor of American literature at UAF.
Ayden Harris is a third year graduate student in the MFA program at UAF studying fiction, and the current editor of the Permafrost Literary Journal.
