Rojas Contreras’ latest book, The Man Who Could Move Clouds, is a genre-bending memoir that interweaves family lore, Colombian history, and raises fundamental questions about what is magical, what is real, and who gets to decide. With a narrative that jumps time, embraces oral history, and unravels forgotten stories, The Man Who Could Move Clouds was named a “Best Book of the Year” by Time, NPR, Vulture, People, Boston Globe, Esquire, and a winner of the California Book Award, and was both a Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award finalist. Her latest work of nonfiction, Matriarchies, will be published in 2027.
