About this Event
Josie invites readers into the intimate story behind the book: finding her true love and building a happy family that was later shattered by the Black Summer Bushfires. After losing her husband in the fires, Josie narrated about navigating profound loss and finding her way back through studying psychology, externalising her grief through art, and rebuilding her connection with her grieving daughter through daily routines and travelling.
In her newly published book, DEBRIS: A Memoir of Love, Grief and Courage, she speaks candidly about a process that required courage, clarity, and a willingness to revisit the hardest moments as a cathartic path toward healing.
DEBRIS is not only a personal narrative; it is a reminder of the ways we can hold ourselves together when the universe finds its way to break us into pieces. Josie explores themes of resilience, grief, and motherhood. Audiences will gain insight into the making of the memoir, the artwork that accompanied it, and the lived experiences
