About this Event

Join the Carnegie Library as author Pat McKee discusses Ariel’s Intent, the final book in the Ariel Trilogy. Books will be available for purchase and signing after the talk.

About the book:

From perfect evil to perfect beauty. Ariel is stunning, a goddess among mere mortals. She’s the most intelligent AI in existence, and she protects litigator Paul McDaniel.
Money may corrupt humanity, but artificial intelligence has no conscience to begin with.
Another inheritance-hungry Milano family member is dead, his blood splattered on the floor of Paul’s impeccable law office. The Milano pharmaceutical fortune Paul believed he had secured for its true heir, Tracey, in the most successful case of his career, is at risk due to a rigged legal action by his vengeful and powerful ex, Melissa. As tensions in the Milano boardroom escalate, Tracey is kidnapped and held hostage by a psychopath. Bad things come in threes.
M**der, kidnapping, data ransom, and grand jury manipulation are just the beginning for Melissa Milano and her powerful law firm, Strange & Fowler, when it comes to the pursuit of Milano riches.
While Paul’s guardian angel Ariel will shield him from danger at any cost necessary, her ultimate intent is to possess Paul to the exclusion of all others, including Tracey, who desperately needs their help.
The line between artificial intelligence and humanity is finally breached as Paul, Melissa, Tracey, and Ariel are forced into a showdown for greed, power, survival, and love.
A provocative legal thriller that explores the allure and abomination of artificial intelligence without limits.
Nothing is ever as it seems in Ariel’s Intent, the brilliant third act of Pat McKee’s Ariel Trilogy.

About the author:

Patrick Walter McKee was born February 6, 1951, in Miami, Florida. He graduated Valedictorian of his high school class in 1969. He worked his way through college, majoring in English and Philosophy, earning his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Georgia State University in 1973, and his law degree, with distinction, from Emory University in 1977, where he served as an editor of the Emory Law Review.

After graduation from Emory and drawn to academics, Pat took a position as legal counsel at the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Later, in 1980, he took that interest to work at the Office of the Attorney General of Georgia where he rose to the position of Senior Assistant Attorney General, representing the University System and the State Board of Education and successfully litigating many high-profile cases. In 1980 Pat was recognized by his peers as being preeminent in his field. He has continuously retained that rating to this day.

Pat has always been a writer, in high school, college, law school, and as a lawyer. In 2010 he enrolled in the Masters of Professional Writing Program at Kennesaw State University to hone his skills. His first book of fiction, Ariel’s Island, was published in 2020. Ariel’s Island won best legal thriller at the 14th Annual National Indie Excellence Awards. Pat released his second novel, Ariel’s Image, in 2024. Ariel’s Intent is the third book of the Ariel trilogy.
