is a nonbinary Afro-Dominican Bronx native. Their debut YA novel Burn Down, Rise Up won the 2022 Pura Belpré Award and was a finalist for the Stoker and Lammy Awards. They are also the author of We Don’t Swim Here and the adult novel We Came to Welcome You.
