Austin Lunar New Year Festival – Free & Family-Friendly

Hosted by Austin Great Wall Chinese School (AGWCS), a non-profit organization serving the Austin area since 1994, this free and family-friendly Lunar New Year Festival is open to everyone.

Celebrate the Lunar New Year with an afternoon full of culture, fun, and tradition. Every child who attends will receive a festive red envelope and a goodie bag while supplies last.

Schedule highlights:

• 2:00–3:00 PM: Cultural stage performances
• 3:00 PM: Lion Dance performance
• 2:30–5:00 PM: Lunar New Year Carnival

The carnival features a dozen completely free activity booths for kids and families, including ribbon dragon dancing, shuttlecock kicking, diabolo (Chinese yo-yo), Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting, and many more hands-on cultural activities.
