Austin Bake Club: Tropical Summer
About this Event
Join us for the August installment of Austin Bake Club! The rules are simple: bring homemade baked goods that fit the theme, mix and mingle with other bakers, and take home as many treats as you came with.
No plus ones (each attendee MUST bring baked goods), and please nothing store bought. This event is meant to create community among bakers and allow you to flex your creative muscles. This month's Bake Club has a tropical theme-- interpret it however you'd like! Bakers of all ages and skill levels are welcome.
To-go boxes will be provided so that you can take home treats from the other bakers. The event ticket will help cover the cost of the venue and secure your spot (maximum of 50 bakers per time slot).
This month we have two time slots available to accommodate even more bakers. When purchasing a ticket you'll choose either 12:00 - 2:00 PM or 2:00 - 4:00 PM.
What to Bake
The theme of the August event is Hot Tropics. Think tropical flavors like coconut, lime, mango, passionfruit, etc.
How Much to Bake
You'll bring home as many items as you bring. For example, if you bring 12 cupcakes to swap you'll leave with 12 baked goods from other bakers. Here is a loose guide for how much to bake:
If pastries or cookies - one or two dozen
If bread or loaf - one or two loaves
If full cake - one cake
What to Expect
12:00 - 12:30 pm: Morning wave check in, set out your bakes, grab a drink
12:30 - 1:15 pm: Slice, box, and build your plates
1:15 - 2:00 pm: Mingle & taste!
2:00 - 2:30 pm: Afternoon wave check in, set out your bakes, grab a drink
2:30 - 3:15 pm: Slice, box, and build your plates
3:15 - 4:00 pm: Mingle & taste!
What to Bring
Your homemade baked good and a serving utensil. To-go boxes will be provided for the baked goods you get from the other attendees.
