Auricular Acupuncture for Therapists - Calming the Nervous System
Schedule
Sat May 02 2026 at 09:15 am to 04:30 pm
UTC+01:00Location
Bell Lane Physiotherapy and Sports Therapy Clinic | Pontefract, EN
At its heart, auricular acupuncture is about restoring balance to the nervous system.
By stimulating key points on the ear, we directly engage the parasympathetic nervous system, activating vagal tone and influencing multiple cranial nerves. This allows us to bypass the peripheral nervous system and communicate more directly with the brain — effectively dialling down overactivity and helping the body regain control.
This makes auricular acupuncture an exceptionally versatile and powerful tool for any condition driven by sympathetic overdrive, including:
• Anxiety, stress, and insomnia
• Digestive disorders — both functional and stress-related (including reflux)
• Pain presentations, particularly those influenced by the nervous system
• Headaches and migraine, especially neck-driven patterns
• Spinal and musculoskeletal pain
• Hormonal imbalance and nervous system dysregulation
For hypnotherapists, auricular acupuncture beautifully complements subconscious and emotional work by settling the body first.
For physiotherapists, it offers a direct way to influence pain, muscle tone, and recovery through nervous system regulation.
