The Augustana Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. James Lambrecht, will tour the Midwest in March.The tour kicks off on March 20 in Oregon, Ill., and includes performances in Illinois and Wisconsin. A final performance will be held at Augustana’s Centennial Hall on April 11. All concerts are free and open to the public. A freewill offering will be accepted.
The Augustana Symphonic Band, which performs music of the highest artistic quality written for the wind band, was established in 1874. Recently, the ensemble celebrated its 150th anniversary with a specially commissioned piece by composer Kevin Walczyk. The ensemble tours annually, with its most recent tours being to the east coast and Japan.
