Please join us for the August VMC Club. We’ll meet on Thursday, August 14th at 7:00 pm at Morey Airplane Company (Middleton Airport).We'll start the evening with discussion around our Question of the Month. This month's question is:
“You’re flying on a hot, summer day. The outside air temperature is 100 degrees, but fortunately the relative humidity is only about 30 percent. In these conditions, should carburetor icing be a concern?”
Let’s hope we don’t have any days like that ahead of us this year!
After discussing this question, we'll watch a short flight scenario video and discuss how we would approach the situation. This is always good discussion as we learn from each other's experiences and share our aviation knowledge.
This month's video scenario is titled "Smoky Departure". No, we’re not flying into the Canadian wildfire smoke that we saw last week. We’ll be flying a Cessna 172 out of Miller Field in Valentine, NE (KBBW) on our way to breakfast. We have an inexperienced, non-pilot passenger and encounter something out of the normal as we depart. Then we’ll answer the regular question – “what would you do?”
