August Jam

Our next monthly jam is here, and we’re excited to gather again! Join us for spins, flow, and great vibes at Enmore Park. Whether you’re brand new or highly experienced, a hobbyist or professional, you are welcome. Come share skills, connect with others, and enjoy time with the fire and flow community.
This is a FREE, non‑ticketed, informal community meetup for fire spinners and flow artists.
Please bring your own props and fuel. If you need fuel, Happy Herb Shop just up the road in Newtown sells 5L containers of Isopar G. Isopar G and firelight are the fuels we recommend for fire spinning. They burn at a relatively low temperature compared to other fuels. They are more gentle on your props. They produce far less smoke, and don’t transfer easily to other surfaces. Eg. your clothing and skin.
We strongly advise you to avoid fuels like lamp oils, and kerosene. If you’re unsure about fuel types, feel free to chat with the event organisers. Do yourself and your props a favour and don’t use kerosene. Your props will thank you, and so will the lungs and noses of everyone nearby.
If you are using Shellight, please make sure it is in clearly marked containers, and keep it separate from the main fuelling station to avoid any mixups.
Fire safety will be on-site from 8 until 10:30.
You spin fire at your own risk. We recommend also bringing your own fire safety equipment: fire extinguisher, fire blankets, wet towels, etc.
For everyone’s safety and wellbeing, including your own, we ask that fire breathing is avoided.
Fire pits are not allowed in Enmore Park.
When getting ready to do a burn, please light your props away from the fuelling station.
We also ask that you avoid using glass fuel containers. They can be hard to spot and we want to keep the park safe for children, pets, and everyone who uses the space. Small pieces of broken glass are not fun to pick out of your skin. Plastic or metal containers are the way to go.
If high winds or a total fire ban occur, the jam will still go ahead—just without fire props. LEDs and day props are absolutely welcome.
If it rains, we will most likely cancel. Keep an eye on the event page; we’ll make the final call by 5pm on the day.
Photographers are welcome, we just ask that everyone respects the comfort and consent of those who prefer not to be photographed. Consent is cool.
Please take care of each other and the park. Anything you bring with you should leave with you, or go into one of the many bins around the area.
Looking forward to seeing you all!
