Celebrate the “Dog Days of Summer” with a paws-itively delightful Craft Day at the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum! Join us on Sunday, August 9, 2026, for a special event where guests of all ages can create homemade dog biscuits to take home to their furry friends or donate to our local rescue neighbor organization Homeward Trails.
What to Expect:
All Supplies Provided: We’ll supply everything you need to bake tasty dog biscuits, including dog-friendly ingredients, cookie cutters, and packaging materials. Join us in preparing treats that your pets will love!
Guided Baking Sessions: Our experienced staff will lead you through the process of making delicious and healthy dog biscuits, ensuring you leave with plenty of knowledge and treats to share. Learn about the benefits of using natural ingredients for your pets.
Family and Pet-Friendly Fun: This event is suitable for the whole family! Children can participate in the crafting and baking, creating special treats for their four-legged companions. Plus, we encourage participants to feel free to bring their dogs along to join in the fun!
Donations to Local Rescues: If you choose to donate your crafted biscuits, we’ll ensure they go to a local animal rescue organization, helping dogs in need find loving homes. It’s a wonderful way to give back to our community!
Exhibit Exploration: While you’re here, take the opportunity to explore our museum exhibits that highlight the history of railroads and their impact on transportation and local communities.
Visitor Information:
Admission: Craft Day is included with general admission to the museum. One Set of Biscuits per Family. Want to make more, additional ‘sets’ can be purchased for $4.00 each ‘set’.
Parking: Free parking is available onsite.
Accessibility: The museum is fully accessible to all guests.
Donate: Help keep the station chugging along, while admission fees help additional monetary donations are a plus. Have a train set you would like to re-home, we will give them some TLC and sell them in our gift shop where sales keep us going. Have some extra time, become a volunteer, we’d love to have you.
