Experience Level: Beginner-friendly; returning students welcome
Spend the week exploring clay through pinch pots, coil building, slab construction, glazing, and more in this skill-building hand-building camp for young artists.
Students will learn foundational ceramic techniques while creating functional pottery, imaginative sculptures, and personalized clay projects. Each day includes demonstrations, guided practice, and open studio time for students to build confidence and develop their own ideas in clay.
Projects are designed to encourage creativity, experimentation, and artistic independence in a supportive studio environment. All artwork will be glazed and kiln-fired in a food-safe finish.
Throughout the week, students will explore:
-Pinch pots and functional forms
-Coil-built vessels and sculptural forms
-Slab-built boxes, plaques, and structures
-Animals, creatures, and imaginative projects
-Surface decoration and glazing techniques
What to Bring
Clothes that can get messy
Water bottle
Finished work will be ready for pickup after kiln firing. Families will be notified when artwork is ready.
About the Instructor
Hannah Kuiper is an experienced ceramic artist and educator with a background in art education and ceramic processes. She is passionate about creating supportive studio environments where students can build skills, explore materials, and grow confidence through hands-on clay work.
