The Rings of Death
Please read the The Kingdom Rules, as these apply to all Kingdom shoots. Below are the additional rules for this specific shoot.
Target
The target is a set of metal rings in two-inch increments, 14 to 2 inches inside diameter. The metal macrama rings can be found at most craft stores. The marshal in charge of the shooting has the option of using an equivalent target if needed. Solid disks of cardboard cut to the correct size may also be used. No center aiming point may be added to the targets. They must be plain rings or disks with no additional markings that could be used to aid in aiming.
Running the shoot
Each target is shot from 20 yards. The targets are shot one ring at a time starting with the 14 inch and working down to the 2 inch. The archers shoot three arrows at each ring. To advance to the next smaller ring an archer must have at least one arrow within the current ring. This continues until the two inch ring is reached or no archers have hit within the current ring. To count, arrows must hit completely within the ring, touching the outside edge does not count.
Scoring
The 14" ring receives one point for each arrow that strikes completely within the ring area. 1 point given as a bonus points for getting all 3 arrows in the target area.
Max points: 3 (one point per arrow) and 1 bonus point for hitting the area all 3 times. The total for this ring will be 4
points
The 12' ring receives two point for each arrow that strikes completely within the ring area. 1 point given as a bonus points for getting all 3 arrows in the target area.
Max points: 6 (two point per arrow) and 1 bonus point for hitting the area all 3 times. The total for this ring will be 7
points
The 10" ring receives three point for each arrow that strikes completely within the ring area. 1 point given as a bonus points for getting all 3 arrows in the target area.
Max points: 9 (three point per arrow) and 1 bonus point for hitting the area all 3 times. The total for this ring will be 10
points
The 8" ring receives four point for each arrow that strikes completely within the ring area. 1 point given as a bonus points for getting all 3 arrows in the target area.
Max points: 12 (four point per arrow) and 1 bonus point for hitting the area all 3 times. The total for this ring will be 13
points
The 6" ring receives five point for each arrow that strikes completely within the ring area. 1 point given as a bonus points for getting all 3 arrows in the target area.
Max points: 15 (five point per arrow) and 1 bonus point for hitting the area all 3 times. The total for this ring will be 16
points
The 4" ring receives six point for each arrow that strikes completely within the ring area. 1 point given as a bonus points for getting all 3 arrows in the target area.
Max points: 18 (six point per arrow) and 1 bonus point for hitting the area all 3 times. The total for this ring will be 19
points
The 2" ring receives seven point for each arrow that strikes completely within the ring area. 1 point given as a bonus points for getting all 3 arrows in the target area.
Max points: 21 (seven point per arrow) and 1 bonus point for hitting the area all 3 times. The total for this ring will be 22
points
Remember only one arrow within the ring is needed to continue on to the next smaller ring.
A perfect score would be: 69 points (62 points for hits, plus 7 points (1 point per target when the archer hit all three areas)
There will be 2 winners for this game:
1. most points scored
2. person that got to the smallest ring.
if there is a tie in any of the cases there will be a shoot off and the archery administrator will let the participant know what the shoot off will be.
