Aug.5-9 Children's Market Summer Camp

Would your child would enjoy a taste of farm life this summer? Or do they like crafting, marketing, and selling things? This might be just the camp experience for them!

This is our second year to offer this camp at the Blue Dot Acres Farm and we are excited to be offering camps again this year!

Camp mornings begin with a gentle start with activities related to arts activities, marketing, crafting, and farming. Kids will get to experience the work that goes into growing food and caring for animals on the farm.

In the afternoons, kids will have time for creating their market stand for our culminating activity - a children's market on Friday afternoon. We will talk about how to plan and price products, as well as aspects of selling and marketing. Many children choose to crochet, make slime, artwork, bracelets, or games of chance. We will brainstorm as a group to make sure that everyone has an idea they feel excited about.

After we have spent the week learning about plants, growing produce, caring for farm animals, and creating for their very own children's market celebration, family members are invited to experience the children's market at 3:30pm on Friday. Children will host their booths and sell to family, friends, and anyone else they invite to their market celebration. (This part isn't mandatory but it is REALLY fun to take part in a children's market!) Children are given $20 to spend "at the market" although they also like to barter and trade their crafts among one another. Selling items to family and friends was definitely a highlight last year, so be ready to participate parents and caregivers!

This camp runs Monday-Friday, August 5-9, 9:30am-3pm.

The cost is $ 325 per child and it includes a small budget for their crafting materials and the $20 for them to spend (or save) at our market.

This camp has a maximum of 20 children or a ratio of 10 children per 1 adult. This camp is ideal for kids ages 4-12 years who like a relaxed pace and quiet group.
