Young Frankenstein is a hilarious and electrifying musical comedy that reimagines the classic Mel Brooks film with a fresh, theatrical twist. This side-splitting production follows Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, the grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, as he inherits his family’s estate in Transylvania. With the help of quirky characters like Igor, Inga, and Frau Blücher, Frederick sets out to complete his grandfather’s experiments and bring a creature to life. CAST REQUIREMENTS – 10 principal roles plus ensemble (ages 18 and up)
Where? Mount Wachusett Community College, room A110 (formerly 182)
When? Monday, December 1 and Tuesday, December 2 at 7PM. All auditions are by appointment only.
What: Please prepare a short vocal selection that best shows your abilities and range (bring sheet music if selection is not from the show). Wear comfortable clothing and footwear for dance audition. If you are a tapper, please bring tap shoes. Also expect cold-readings from the script for key roles.

DR. FREDERICK FRANKENSTEIN – Brilliant brain surgeon, professor and grandson of mad scientist Dr. Victor Von Frankenstein. Age: 25 – 35. Vocal range G4 – Bb2
THE MONSTER – The misunderstood creation of Dr. Frankenstein. Vocal range Bb4 – Db2.
IGOR – Frederick’s faithful, bright-eyed, eager servant and friend with a hunchback. Age: 25 – 35. Vocal range G4 – Bb2
INGA – Frederick’s young assistant. Attractive and a resident of Transylvania. Age: 20 to 30. Vocal range A5 – G3
ELIZABETH BENNING – Frederick’s boisterous fiancé. Age 25 – 35. Vocal range F5 – F#3
FRAU BLUCHER – Stern housekeeper of the Frankenstein estate and former lover of Victor Frankenstein. Age 40 – 60. Vocal range C5 – E3
INSPECTOR HANS KEMP – The head of police in Trnsylvania. Driven by justice, with a wooden arms and leg. Age 40 – 50. Vocal range F4 – A2
THE HERMIT – A lonely, blind town hermit, hoping for a friend. Age 30 – 60. Vocal range F4 – Ab2
