About the show:
In Bikini Bottom, the stakes have never been higher when an unexpected disaster arises: the total annihilation of the undersea world as we know it. Reactions to the crisis range from:
● an exploitative get-rich-quick scheme
● blaming the disaster on land mammals who have entered the community
● a plan to control the population through mind control
● a celebrity performance to fundraise money to help everyone
● idolization of an unexpected and glorified cult leader
(Sound familiar?)
SpongeBob and Sandy Cheeks develop a science-backed plan to fix
the danger, but they’re up against the clock as their neighbors tear themselves apart.

We prefer folks fill out the Google Form but we will take walk-ins and will try to see people as promptly as possible.
Each time slot will start off with learning a dance combo, which will be taught and performed as a group. Auditioners should prepare one of these five songs from the SpongeBob Musical for their audition:

If you would like help sourcing sheet music to learn an audition song, send an email to [email protected], but you do not need to bring music with you. Auditioners will be accompanied on the piano.
We will consider you for any role, regardless of the character who sings the song you audition with. Not all characters are represented in the song list, and that's intentional.
Reading from the script will take place by invitation during callbacks on Tuesday, March 25th at 7pm.

-Wear comfortable shoes (preferably character shoes) and clothes that don’t limit your movement.
-The minimum age to audition for The SpongeBob Musical at Riverwalk is 16 years old. We are producing the full production rather than the youth edition.

Who Should Audition?
The core SpongeBob at Riverwalk team is looking to cast in ways that are practical, exciting, and unique. We seek to honor the guidance from The SpongeBob Musical’s original Broadway director, Tina Landau, on casting:
“The most important element to consider in casting is diversity. After all, this is one of the main themes of the show. Find and celebrate diversity in body type, color, race, gender, age. That's what an ocean habitat looks like, that's how our world is, and that's the Bikini Bottom Way.”
