Proudly presented by Cotton Rose School of Dance & The Averitt Center for the Arts, The Nutcracker! This year sees the return of the most beloved Christmas classic to the Averitt Center stage.
Join Clara on her whirlwind adventure as she battles the evil mouse king alongside a familiar brave soldier, travels through the tantalizing Land of Sweets, sails across the Lemonade Sea, and is entertained by the most unlikely of hosts- the Sugarplum Fairy. Delighting the Statesboro community for over a decade, The Nutcracker has become one of the most anticipated events of the holiday season. This nostalgic tale will be brought to life in the Emma Kelly Theater by the instructors and students of the Cotton Rose School of Dance.
Auditions for the upcoming performance of the Nutcracker will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, from 9 am to 6 pm at 41 West Main Street. We ask that guests arrive 15-20 minutes before their audition time to fill out paperwork. Roles & Rehearsal Schedule will be given out a few days after auditions.
Audition time by age:
Ages 3-6: 12:45 - 1:30pm
Ages 7-11: 12:00 - 12:45pm
Ages 12+ : 10am - 11am
Pointe (2yrs exp. Minimum): 11:00 - 11:30am
Adults: 2pm - 2:45pm
Attire:
Black leotard (Any color for ages 3-6)
Pink footed tights
Pink Ballet Shoes (Pointe Shoes if applicable)
Hair contained in a bun
Adults, please wear clothing/shoes that you can move in
