When ruggedly handsome, National Geographic photographer, Robert Kincaid, pulls into her driveway seeking directions, what happens in those four days may very well alter the course of Francesca's life.

RICHARD “BUD” JOHNSON - Francesca’s husband – mid 40s, an Iowa farmer, a good guy, diligent and dependable, but always exhausted and irritated that things haven’t gotten easier (Vocal range top: F#4; Vocal range bottom: B2)
ROBERT KINCAID - 40-50 ruggedly handsome, worldly, visionary photographer (Vocal range top: A4; Vocal range bottom: G2)
MARIAN - 40s - Robert’s former wife - a musician, may play other women, including CHIARA - Francesca’s sister still living in Italy (Vocal range top: D5; Vocal range bottom: A3)
MICHAEL - Francesca and Bud’s son, age 16 (Vocal range top: G#4; Vocal range bottom: D3)
