Recommended minimum age to audition: 16+
Please register and reserve ONE audition slot at https://form.jotform.com/260127056108146 and come prepared as follows:
•16-32 bars of one song that best demonstrates your vocal range and quality (preferably not
from the show, but appropriate to its style). An accompanist will be provided. Bring sheet
music. If using a recording, we’ll have a Bluetooth speaker available for use, or you can bring
your own as a backup.
•1-2 minute monologue (optional). We may also ask you to read sides from the script.
•We may ask you to vocalize or sing some brief selections from the show to gauge vocal range
and flexibility.
PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR AUDITION TIME.
Cast size: 10 named roles plus ensemble (character descriptions below). We also hope to cast some leading role understudies from among the ensemble. There will also be space for a few ensemble-only roles.
Sweeney Todd
A wrongfully imprisoned barber seeking to right the wrongs committed against him. He is
Johanna's father, singularly focused on taking bloody revenge. Our story's tormented
protagonist.

Mrs. Lovett
An entrepreneurial and amoral meat pie shop owner. She falls in love with Todd and turns his
desire for revenge into a profitable business venture.

Anthony Hope
A naive and youthful sailor returning to London. He helps Todd return to London and
unexpectedly falls in love with Johanna.

A spritely girl, full of innocence, constantly yearning for freedom. Todd's long-lost daughter and
Turpin's ward.

A poor youngster apprenticed to Pirelli. He finds a surrogate family in Todd and Lovett.

Judge Turpin
A lecherous public official who portrays himself as a sanctimonious authoritarian. He takes
advantage of his position in the city and is responsible for imprisoning Todd.

The Beadle
A pompous public official. He is deeply loyal to the corrupt Turpin.
