AUDITION NOTICE: Real Women Have Curves at Shreveport Little Theatre
Shreveport Little Theatre is excited to announce auditions for Real Women Have Curves, the heartwarming and empowering play by Josefina López that celebrates family, culture, identity, and the strength of women.
Auditions:
🗓️Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 4:00 PM at Shreveport Little Theatre
Auditions will consist primarily of cold readings from the script. Individuals are also welcome to prepare a monologue; however, monologues are encouraged but not required.
Set in East Los Angeles, Real Women Have Curves follows Ana García, a bright and ambitious first-generation Mexican-American young woman who dreams of attending college and pursuing a future beyond the expectations placed upon her. As she navigates family obligations, cultural traditions, and questions of self-worth, Ana and the women around her discover the power of embracing who they are. Filled with humor, heart, and honesty, the play explores themes of body positivity, generational conflict, and the pursuit of the American Dream.
Shreveport Little Theatre welcomes performers of all experience levels to audition. This production offers an opportunity to tell a powerful and timely story that celebrates resilience, authenticity, and the beauty of embracing one’s own voice. Additional information regarding character breakdowns, rehearsal schedules, and performance dates will be released prior to auditions.
Rehearsals are slated to begin August 25, 2026, with performances running October 15–25, 2026.
