Audition Location:
NW Flex Space - 1887 SE Milport Rd, Milwaukie, OR 97222
Audition Dates:
January 18 & 19 from 12:00-9:00pm
Invited callbacks January 20 from 6:30-10:00pm
What to Bring:
Resume and Headshot and prepare one memorized melodramatic comedic monologue no longer than 90seconds. Please also prepare one short song in the style of the show (ballads are preferred). Please bring a phone with Bluetooth or other device to play your backing track from. A Bluetooth speaker will be provided.
All actors must be fully vaccinated.
Rehearsal Dates:
February 15 - April 5 | Sundays - Thursdays 6:30-9:30
*Actors will not be called to all rehearsals. We will work around your conflicts, and you will receive a full, detailed rehearsal schedule before the first rehearsal.
Tech week:
April 6-10
Performance Dates:
April 11-27
Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30pm
Sundays at 2:00pm
Pay
Blinking Eye Theatre is committed to paying theatre professionals for their work. For this production, all of our artists (actors and crew) will be paid a minimum of $200 each. We will also be accepting audience donations during the run purely focused on paying our artists more.
Casting an ensemble of various ages (20s-40s), ethnicities, and genders.
All roles may be played by actors of any ethnicity and any gender. All roles are available except for Julian, which has been cast.

Synopsis of Melancholy Play
A melodramatic comedy that celebrates the way we relate to one another through sadness. Tilly's melancholy is of an exquisite quality. She turns her melancholy into a sexy thing, and every stranger she meets falls in love with her. One day, inexplicably, Tilly becomes happy, wreaking havoc on the lives of her paramours.
