Announcement: SPAC will be hosting auditions for the upcoming production FROZEN Jr. for performers age 12 - 18 (including students currently in 7th - 12th grade).
Auditions will be held at SPAC, 2 East Main Street in Smithtown, on Saturday December 7th. Sign up begins at 2:30 PM, and auditions will begin at 3:00 PM. Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song from a similar musical, and bring sheet music, a recent headshot, and resume. Callbacks (if necessary) will be held on Sunday, December 8th and/or Monday, December 9th as needed. You will be notified by email if you are needed for a callback. Please do not call the theater, the phone is not monitored.
If you are unable to attend the in-person audition, a video audition may be submitted. Please contact [email protected] for more information.
There will be a production fee of $200 for all those cast in this production, due on or before the first rehearsal.
ALL ROLES ARE OPEN. All gender identities and expressions, racial & ethnic backgrounds, and physical and cognitive abilities are encouraged to audition. Each cast member will also pledge to uphold our anti-bullying and anti-harassment policies before beginning rehearsals. We are dedicated to an open and inclusive creative environment that fosters artistic and personal growth.
This production will be directed by Jordan Hue and musically directed by Vincent Donnadio.
Rehearsals will be held at SPAC beginning on Tuesday, December 10th and can begin as early as 4:30 PM or end as late as 10 PM (rehearsals will generally be about two to three hours long) Monday-Thursday, with the potential to add Sunday mornings or other days as necessary. Please be accurate with your conflicts on your audition sheet. No conflicts will be accepted for tech week, January 13 - 17, 2025.
Synopsis:
Frozen JR. is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features all of the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production.
A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen JR. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!
