The Chatham Players will hold auditions for “Things I Know To Be True” by Andrew Bovell on Sunday, March 22 at 2pm and Monday, March 23 at 7pm at The Chatham Playhouse, 23 North Passaic Ave. Chatham, NJ. Actors must check in to the auditions within 30 minutes of the audition start time. Sharon Garry of Cedar Grove directs.
Production dates are June 5th - June 14th, 2026 with rehearsals to begin late March.
Bob and Fran Price have four adult children: Pip, Mark, Ben, and Rosie. Each child has his or her own unique struggles and secrets that they try to keep hidden from their parents, but Fran has a knack for knowing what is true in each of their lives, whether it is an unhappy marriage (Pip), heartbreak (Rosie), redefined sexuality (Mark), or drug use (Ben). As the children try to redefine their lives separately from the hopes and dreams of their parents, what is real and genuine in the Price family falls apart under scrutiny, and Bob and Fran must redefine their relationships with their children and with each other. Funny, poignant, and heartbreaking, Things I Know to be True examines the dynamics of a family and how they understand truth in the face of tragedy.
Director Sharon Garry seeks six actors. All actors are asked to go online prior to auditions and submit our online audition form. Actors will be asked to read from sides provided at the audition, these and the audition form are available on Chatham Players' website at www.chathamplayers.org. Should interested auditioners have difficulty finding the script, please reach out to Sarah Pharaon at [email protected]
