Join us for auditions for The Snow Queen, A musical fairy tale based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen.

Performances:
March 13-22, 2026 with a total of ten (10) performances. Fridays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 11:00am and 2:00pm, and Sundays at 1:00pm and 4:00pm. Rehearsals will take place at various city-owned locations within the City of Gaithersburg. Performances will take place at the Arts Barn, 311 Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. No conflicts with show dates will be accepted.
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, January 6th and Thursday, January 8th, 2026 from 7-9:30pm at ATMTC Academy at the Wintergreen Plaza. Call backs, if invited, will be Saturday, January 10th.

To audition, please

Note: walk-ins will be seen in order of arrival, as time and space allow. We recommend arriving early in the evening and being prepared to wait.
2) Fill out the audition form or plan to bring your conflicts and fill out the form at auditions.

For those unable to attend auditions. Virtual submissions will be accepted; see additional information and guidelines below.
Vocal Audition: Please prepare one 30-60 second musical theatre song in any style. An accompanist will be provided at auditions. Please bring your clearly labeled sheet music in a book or a binder.
Virtual Audition: Must be submitted to [email protected] no later than 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5th. Please submit the following:
1) One video clearly stating your name and the song you are performing, as well as your cut following the vocal audition guidelines above. Karaoke tracks or live accompaniment is strongly recommended. Video should be submitted as a YouTube link or a Google Drive link. Please check file permissions before submitting.
2) Complete and submit the audition form with a complete list of rehearsal conflicts.

Show Information:
The Snow Queen is a TYA production (Theatre for Young Audiences) originally produced as an Opera-on-the-Go. It has been successfully produced by musical theatre companies. Six (6) actors will be cast, most playing multiple roles. All roles are open to actors of any race or ethnicity. We are actively seeking to cast in a racially-conscious manner. All actors must be 15 years of age or older.
Synopsis:
The Snow Queen has spirited Cai away to the North Pole. Gerda, the best friend of Cai, is determined to find him. With the help of friends she makes along the way, Gerda bravely travels vast distances to come at last to the palace of the Snow Queen. Once there, she battles the wicked Queen and her snowflake army to rescue Cai. A beautiful retelling of the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairytale emphasizing positive relationships and the power of friendship.

THIRD ACTRESS (vocal range C4-C6): Snow Queen and Robber Woman
