Alliance for the Arts is seeking performers for its upcoming production of Neil Simon's The Odd Couple (Female Version), directed by Michael Hebler. Auditions will be held on Friday, July 10 at 7:00 PM and Sunday, July 12 at 11:00 AM at Alliance for the Arts, located at 10091 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers.
Neil Simon's hilarious adaptation of his classic comedy follows Olive Madison and Florence Unger, two longtime friends whose opposite personalities collide when they become roommates. Filled with sharp wit, memorable characters, and laugh-out-loud situations, The Odd Couple (Female Version) remains one of the most beloved comedies ever written.
The production is seeking performers for all eight roles:
Olive Madison (Female, 30s–50s)
Florence Unger (Female, 30s–50s)
Silvie (Female, 20s–40s)
Renee (Female, 20s–60s)
Mickey (Female, 20s–60s)
Vera (Female, 20s–60s)
Manolo Costazuela (Male, 30s–50s)
Jesus Costazuela (Male, 30s–50s)
One apartment. Two best friends. Zero compatibility. Actors of all experience levels are encouraged to audition. Actors are encouraged to bring a headshot and résumé and should plan to stay for the full two-hour audition session. Audition sides are available in advance by request.
"I'm incredibly excited to see who walks through the door," said director Michael Hebler. "I've had the opportunity to see a lot of local theatre recently, and the talent here in Southwest Florida is exceptional. We have performers with tremendous range, experience, and comedic instincts. The Odd Couple is one of the funniest plays ever written, and I'm looking forward to assembling a cast that can bring these characters to life and have as much fun with the material as the audience will."
Rehearsals are scheduled to begin on Monday, July 13, with performances running August 14–23, 2026, at Alliance for the Arts.
