Auditions for the Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida are Tuesday, August 25, and September 1, from 7 to 10 PM. Both sessions take place at Sunshine Cathedral.
The Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida is calling for new voices. Season 17 carries a theme that feels personal and urgent: Believe. We are inviting singers to step forward and join a community that transforms lives through music. This is your opportunity to stand alongside a community that bridges generations and affirms every identity. We create something that resonates far beyond the stage.
Callbacks will be held on Sunday, September 13 at 5 PM. Our first rehearsal launches Tuesday, September 15 at 7:15 PM. We are ready to meet you.
You do not need to identify as gay, bisexual, or male. You must be 18 or older and not in high school. We welcome all singers in the lower vocal registers: Tenor 1, Tenor 2, Baritone, and Bass. We celebrate every gender identity and expression. The audition itself is friendly and informal. You will sing a section of "Over the Rainbow" with a music track, which will be sent prior to the audition so you can practice. You will also run through vocal scales so our artistic director can place your voice. Then you will sit down with a few chorus leaders for a brief conversation. No other candidates are in the room while you sing. We will notify you of the outcome.
Membership is a commitment of energy and time. Dues are $90 per concert cycle or $270 for the full season. Scholarships are available. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings and some Saturday mornings. Register now at gmcsf.org/audition. We believe in the power of your voice. Come believe with us.
