Lil Zalinski: The anchor of the play: Strong, warm, independent, and a long-time regular at the Cove. She is privately battling terminal cancer. She falls deeply in love with Eva, choosing to live her final summer to the fullest.
Eva Margolis: Naive, sheltered, and straight-identifying at the start. She accidentally rents a cabin at the resort after leaving her husband. She explores her sexuality, falls for Lil, and finds her independence.
Dr. Kitty Cochrane: A successful, sharp-witted feminist author and therapist. She is terrified of being publicly outed, which could ruin her career. Locked in a tense, secretive relationship with her partner, Rita.
Rita Holland: Kitty’s younger, loving, and deeply frustrated partner. She is tired of living in the closet and playing the role of Kitty's "secretary".
Annie: Warm, maternal, and fiercely loyal backbone of the friend group. Devoted partner to Rae for many years; she is an excellent cook and caretaker.
Rae: Enthusiastic, politically minded, and deeply committed to feminist theory. Annie's longtime partner; provides lighthearted, passionate energy to the group.
Donna: The Party Girl! Glamorous, flirtatious, wealthy, and a bit materialistic. Sue’s partner, though she frequently flirts with others and brings a dramatic, high-energy vibe.
Sue: Grounded, wealthy, patient, and deeply in love with Donna. Often plays the role of the mature protector, dealing with Donna’s erratic antics
We are seeking to cast actors who identify as women. These roles identify as gay women; therefore, we strongly encourage actors with lived experience of being gay to audition. Trans Women, Bisexual women, and non-binary performers are also strongly encouraged to audition.
All 8 roles are comprised of all ethnicities and ages.
