– ABOUT THE MUSICAL –
An evocative tale of two men – one, a doctor, passionate and romantic; the other, a terrifying madman – and two women – one, beautiful and trusting; the other, beautiful and trusting only herself– both women in love with the same man and both unaware of his dark secret. A devoted man of science, Dr. Henry Jekyll is driven to find a chemical breakthrough that can solve some of mankind’s most challenging medical dilemmas. Rebuffed by the powers that be, he decides to make himself the subject of his own experimental treatments, accidentally unleashing his inner demons along with the man that the world would come to know as Mr. Hyde.
– PREPARATIONS –
• Please prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the music found in Jekyll & Hyde. (Please do not sing from the show.)
• Please bring appropriately marked sheet music as an accompanist will be provided. Instrumental tracks are acceptable but not preferred. No acapella auditions.
• For those interested in the role of Dr. Henry Jekyll / Edward Hyde, you are encouraged to prepare 2 contrasting songs (16 bars each) that demonstrate your versatility as a performer.
• You may be asked to stay and read from the script after vocal auditions.
• Please bring a headshot and resume. (A selfie is okay in lieu of a professional headshot!)
• Please bring ALL known conflicts from JULY 20 - NOVEMBER 3. The rehearsal schedule will be based on conflicts submitted by cast members.
• Full cast availability is expected from OCTOBER 7 - OCTOBER 17.
— REHEARSAL INFORMATION —
• Although the schedule is currently not set, productions typically rehearse *select* weeknights (Monday - Friday, anywhere between 6:30pm - 10:00pm.) Occasional weekend rehearsals may occur depending on the conflicts and needs of the production.
• Rehearsals are held at Players by the Sea (106 6th Street North, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250). In the rare event of scheduling conflicts within our facility, alternative rehearsal locations will be provided with reasonable notice.

A brilliant and driven doctor who seeks to separate the good and evil in humanity. As Jekyll, he is compassionate and idealistic, while as Hyde, he is dark, dangerous, and seductive.
EMMA CAREW
Female Identifying, 20s-30s, Vocal Range A3 – C6
Jekyll's fiancée, kind-hearted and loving, with a strength of character that becomes tested as Jekyll's experiment takes a dark turn.
LUCY HARRIS

A captivating and fiery performer at a seedy London cabaret, with a vulnerable side that yearns for escape from her troubled life.
