The Story:
M*A*S*H stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital and this is the story of the surgeons, nurses, and military personnel stationed at M*A*S*H 4077 during the Korean War. Hawkeye and Duke aren't exactly ones for military regulations but they are some of the best surgeons in South Korea. When they decide to help a young Korean get to the United States for a better education, their efforts lead to a string of comic adventures. Hawkeye tells a psychiatrist he's been trying to lobster-trap mermaids in a rice paddy, a sergeant sells naive GIs fishing rights in the Bay of Phum, and Radar O'Reilly, a soldier with incredible hearing, anticipates things before they happen. Throw in a visit from the Bonwit Sisters, the worst tap-dancing act ever sent overseas by the U.S.O. and the re-creation of an old monster movie and M*A*S*H provides actors lots of opportunities to work on and show off their character development and comic timing skills.
