2 Males ages 20's - 30's
4 Females 20's - 30's
Character Gender/Age Range Description
Lenny Magrath (F) (Early to Mid 30s) The eldest Magrath sister. Responsible, self‑sacrificing, and tightly wound, Lenny has spent years putting others first. She carries deep insecurities about her appearance and romantic prospects but has a warm, loyal heart beneath her anxieties. Requires strong comedic timing rooted in emotional truth.
Meg Magrath (F) (Late 20s – Early 30s) The charismatic middle sister. Bold, impulsive, and outwardly confident, though privately vulnerable. Meg once chased big dreams in Hollywood and carries both glamour and bruised pride back home. A blend of charm, fragility, and rebellious energy. Needs to be comfortable briefly singing a cappella onstage.
Babe Botrelle (F) (Mid 20s) The youngest sister, a charming mix of sweetness, impulsivity, and wide-eyed bewilderment. Babe often seems innocent and soft-spoken, yet she has a knack for stumbling into chaos with disarming sincerity. She is a wonderfully off-kilter presence, full of awkward comedy, tender vulnerability, and unpredictable shifts of feeling.
Barnette Lloyd (M) (Mid 20s – Mid 30s) A young, idealistic lawyer with intelligence, earnestness, and slightly awkward charm. Barnette is driven by both professional ambition and a long‑standing personal vendetta, fueling his determination to help Babe, for whom he develops a quiet fondness. A blend of sincerity, humor, and nervous energy.
Doc Porter (M) (Early to Mid 30s) Meg’s former love interest. Kind, steady, and quietly marked by the past. He’s a small‑town man with a gentle spirit, a warm presence, and unresolved feelings for Meg. Needs to convey understated heartbreak, patience, and genuine emotional warmth.
Chick Boyle (F) (Late 20s – Mid 30s) The sisters’ judgmental cousin. Socially proper, self‑important, and easily scandalized, Chick is obsessed with appearances and community reputation. A comedic antagonist with sharp edges and strong physicality.
