Pit & Balcony Community Theatre invites performers to audition for for colored girls…, a powerful and groundbreaking theatrical experience. Capturing the brutal, tender, and deeply dramatic lives of contemporary Black women, this spellbinding “choreopoem” weaves together provocative dance, music, and poetry to create a transformative and riveting evening of theatre.
This production is a vivid collection of prose and free verse narratives, telling stories about and performed by Black women. Each piece is raw, poetic, and unapologetically human, celebrating resilience, pain, joy, and survival.
We are seeking Black women performers who are ready to engage boldly with movement, voice, and storytelling in a collaborative, ensemble-driven process. Performers of all levels of experience are encouraged to audition.
