About the Show
The Mysterious Murder of Lord Whodunit Get ready for a night of high stakes, low intelligence, and absolute chaos! The Mysterious Murder of Lord Whodunit is a fast-paced, highly interactive, three-person comedic spoof of classic Sherlock Holmes mysteries, served up dinner-theater style.
The wealthy eccentric Lord Whodunit is dead, and his eccentric family and friends (played entirely by the audience) have gathered for the reading of his last will and testament. The catch? The will states that no one gets a single dime of the inheritance until the killer is found. Enter a hyper-confident but utterly clueless "Sherlock," his blissfully enabling hype-man "Watson," and a deeply stressed Narrator trying desperately to keep a prestigious British mystery on the tracks. Together, they must interrogate the room, decipher ridiculous clues, and solve the crime before dessert is served.
Audition Details
Dates: July 6th at 7PM
Location: The Agatha Theater 803 3rd Street Suite 220 Rosenberg TX 77471
What to Expect
• Be prepared for cold readings from the script
Roles Available
We are seeking three versatile comedic actors with strong improv skills, physical comedy chops, and excellent crowd-work abilities. All roles are open to Male and Female actors.
• The Narrator: (Male or Female) The glue holding the chaos together. They play the formal British host trying to run a dignified will reading, but they are constantly forced to manage the bumbling detectives and guide the audience through the plot. Needs great comedic timing and stage presence. (May also briefly play the dramatic corpse in the opening minutes).
• "Sherlock" (The Confident Idiot): (Male or Female) A hilarious subversion of the world's greatest detective. He / She is loud, theatrical, deeply arrogant, and fundamentally terrible at deducing anything. They treat minor food crumbs like massive conspiracies and confidently accuses innocent audience members based on absurd logic.
• "Watson" (The Hype Person): (Male or Female) Sherlock’s fiercely loyal, blissfully naive sidekick. Instead of being the voice of reason, Watson completely enables Sherlock’s terrible theories, takes terrible notes, and passionately gasps at every "discovery." Strong physical comedy and a knack for playing off an audience are a must.
