Welcome to open auditions for "1984" by George Orwell, adapted for the theatrical stage by H.S.Fernandez.
Auditions will be held at the NoName Theatre Helsinki on Tuesday 19 and Thursday 21 August from 18–21.

The PLAY
Experience the gripping dystopian narrative of "1984," a profound tale of two lovers navigating an oppressive totalitarian regime ruled by the ever-watchful Big Brother. This story delves into the struggle for intellectual freedom, where the fight against an all-encompassing system leads to a fate more harrowing than death: the total erasure of individual willpower.
Presented in a modernized format for the stage by H.S. Fernandez, this adaptation of "1984" retains the essence of the original storyline while seamlessly incorporating contemporary elements and current events. This innovative blend invites audiences to reflect on the parallels between the classic narrative and today’s societal challenges.
Director H.S. Fernandez is actively seeking a diverse team of participants, including technical crew members and assistants, to bring this powerful story to life.

Please note that the Finn-Brit Players is an amateur theatre company and this is not paid work but an opportunity for people to practice their hobby. If chosen, you will have to be a member of the society to participate in the production. Annual membership (February 2025–February 2026) = 50€ standard and 25€ concessions.
