ALL LEVELS of experience of performers aged 15 -115 are encouraged to audition!
Auditions for "Death By Dessert", a Murder Mystery Dessert Theater, presented by Broadway our Way as a fundraiser for Mt Hope Congregational Church!
Auditions will be:
Wednesday, September 23rd at 6:30pm
at 30333 Schoolcraft Rd, Livonia (Mt Hope Congregational Church)
We will read from the script and have fun!
Rehearsals will be:
A minimum of 1-2 days a week at Mt Hope in accordance with the availability of the actors. Required rehearsal will be depending on role and schedules and will run from 9/23 untl 11/14.
The Performance will be:
Saturday, November 14th. Dessert will be served to patrons.
SYNOPSIS:
It's dinnertime, and you're invited to a meal so good, it's to die for! In New York's little Italy, the Donnaducce family and the Duccedonni family have been feuding for a generation, while operating two competing Italian restaurants that share a common wall. At rise, the building's landlord is dead at center stage, and everyone is suspect – from the old-world Italian grandmother and mafia don grandfather to the passionate chefs and bumbling waitstaff.
Flashing back in time, the story is told by its victim, who alternately narrates and participates in the action. As customers in the restaurant, the audience is served a delectable meal, but they don't just sit back and watch; each table must cast their vote for whodunit! Will the murderer be ferreted out? Will the feud ever be reconciled? What are the hidden truths about what happened all those years ago?
Cast of Characters:
Maria - The landlord of the building- she narrates her murder!
Don - Owner of Donnaducce's Restaurant-joyful fatherly man who loves food. Thick Italian accent.
Nino - Chef at Donnaducces, short temper-loves to cook.
Frankie and Louie - Don's 2 idiot henchmen, waiters at the restaurant.
Busboy - A down to earth Romeo who falls in love.
Donna - The owner of Duccedonni's. Doesn’t take any lip and plays mother to all around her.
Nina - Chef at Duccedonni's- sensitive artist.
Francie and Louise - Two airheads who work for Donna, waitresses but are mobster girlfriends.
Busgirl - down to earth Juliette who falls in love.
Nonno - Nonspeaking, acts out the play in pantomime for flashbacks- Dons father.
Nonna- Nonspeaking pantomime acts out the play - Donnas mother.
