Come From AwayBook, Music, and Lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein
Directed by Jaclyn Loewenstein | Music Direction by Noah Larson
Based on the true story of 7,000 stranded airline passengers and the small Newfoundland town that welcomed them after the 9/11 attacks, Come From Away is the 2017 Tony Award-winning musical that has moved audiences around the world. Our Station production will replicate the iconic "chair-ography" concept, adapted for our intimate stage space.
Auditions: Monday, May 11, 5:00–9:00pm
Callbacks: Tuesday, May 12, 6:00–9:00pm
Where: The Station Theatre, 223 N. Broadway, Urbana, IL
Performances: September 10–27, 2026
Rehearsals begin July 7.
This production requires 12 versatile actor/singers with strong ensemble spirit, vocal and physical energy, and a commitment to dialect work. Auditions are open to actors 18 and up of all genders, races, ethnicities, body types, and abilities.
What to Prepare:
- 60–90 seconds of a song that shows off your storytelling skills. Bring sheet music in your key. Please sing with your natural voice, not a dialect.
- One or two memorized monologues (provided) from Come From Away.
