ATTIC FLOWERS AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT🌸We're holding auditions for our upcoming production of: Attic Flowers, an original work by CCU graduate Chloe Holmes.
SYNOPSIS: A multi-generational comic-drama set in 1966 Chicago, Illinois and 1947 Americus, Georgia. Seventeen year-old Dahlia, who has never felt complete in her identity, lives with her single mother during the mid-1960s. She uncovers a discarded diary that once belonged to her mother and discovers the buried secrets of her mother's past. Through the pages, Dahlia learns about her parents' love story and the tragic events that led to her father's death.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
DAHLIA: Non-singer. Biracial female. Late teens. An inquisitive young lady who yearns to discover more about her mother''s past as well as herself.
CHRISTINE: Singer. Any race (non-black) female. Dahlia's single mother who's just trying to raise her daughter, while fighting off her past. (Plays two different ages, early twenties & early forties)
LEZETTE/RECEPTIONIST: Non-singer. Any race (non-black) female. Early twenties. Christine's best friend since childhood. A jokester with a heart of gold. Should be double cast as receptionist in the beginning.
SUGAR: Non-singer. Any ethnic female. Mid/late forties. Dahlia's aunt, Euguene's older sister, and Christine's dear friend. Strong-minded and loving. Willing to help in any way she can.
LUCILLE: Non-singer. Any race (non-black) female. Late forties/fifties. Christine's mother during the 40s. Rich & sophisticated, yet takes the aristocratic lifestyle too far.
EUGENE/MAN IN WHITE: Singer. Any ethnic male. Mid/late twenties. Serves as the gardener during the 40s. Christine's lover and Dahlia's late father. Should be double cast as Man in White.
AUGUST/NOTIFIER: Non-singer. Any race (non-black) male. Late twenties/early thirties. Christine's suitor seen in the 40s. Should be double cast as the Notifier.
RADIO (V.O.): Non-singer. Any gender/race.
