The Penfield Players are holding auditions for a reader's theatre production of the classic play by Karel Čapek, "Rossum's Universal Robots" (R.U.R.), directed by Kaleab Wiggins. Auditions and shows will be held at the Penfield Rec Center/Library building (1985 Baird Rd, Penfield, NY, 14526)
Auditions:
1. Sunday, January 5, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
2. Monday, January 6, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Synopsis:
Mass-produced, efficient and servile labor, "Robots" remember everything, but lack creative thought, and the Utopian life they provide ultimately lacks meaning. When the Robots revolt they must attempt to learn the secret of self-duplication. But their attempts at replication leave them with nothing, until two robots fall in love and Nature emerges triumphant.
