AUDITIONING FOR DRAMA SCHOOL

Your tutor will be Joseph Richardson. Originally from Lincoln, Joe trained at Guildford School of Acting and has since worked for the National Theatre, Sonia Friedman Productions and ATG, and since 2023, Joe has been an audition panellist for Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Saturday 11th July 2026 will prove invaluable in your auditions for the coming year.

Across the day, you will look at;

• How do you select speeches and what to look for in them.
• Exercises to deepen understanding and unlock connected choices.
• The audition room and how to feel comfortable, at ease and ready.

What will you learn;

• Develop a toolbox of analysis techniques and exercises.
• Gain confidence in the audition room.
• How to experience working from Self.
• Resilience and fortitude in the audition environment and pressures of the day.

Joe runs a safe, supportive and inclusive space and this is an informal learning environment.

Please bring 2x contrasting speeches. One modern, one classical.

You will be working in a practical way with the speeches you decide to bring.
