There’s no such thing as a secret in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia. Not when the gossips meet for coffee every day at the local diner. Vi, Rita, Mary Ellen, and Janine are all as close as can be, and they know everybody’s business. But when Sean, a heartbroken doctor, moves in to take a temporary job at the clinic, he tips the Maritime town that’s famous for being halfway between the North Pole and the equator off its axis.
Production Dates: Feb 6 - 8, 2025 @ 7:30
Actors must be available for all performances.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays, October 8 - January 28, 6:30 - 9:30
Show Week: February 2 - 8, 6:30 - 10:30PM
Actors Must be available each night of show week and must discuss planned absences from rehearsals
Auditions: October 8, 7:00 PM

Please arrive early to complete audition form (doors open 6:30)
Auditionees should plan to be at the audition until 8:30

CASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:
Janine Babineau (to play late 20's - early 30's) - A waitress at the local diner in Stewiacke. In a loveless relationship, comfortably numb. Sarcastic and quick witted smart-mouth. The youngest of the ladies, but holds her own. Unsure how to interpret Sean's flirting.
Dr Sean Merritt (to play late 20's - 40's) - A big city doctor from Toronto running from his recent break up. Sean is a fish out of water in Stewiacke, even more so when he meets the Janine and her friends at the local diner. Thinks he is a smooth operator, but comes up more awkward and out of place.
Vi (to play 40's - 60's) - Part of a group of local ladies who meet at the town dinner to gossip. An accountant, maternal and wise. Struggles with her weight and with her long term boyfriend Johnny.
Mary Ellen (to play 40's - 50's) - Part of a group of local ladies who meet at the town dinner to gossip. The underappreciated wife and mother who decides to go on strike when her family forgets her birthday - causing a drastic change around her house.
Rita (to play 40's - 50's) - Part of a group of local ladies who meet at the town dinner to gossip. Rita is a baker. She is a vamp and a proud man eater who delights in regaling the ladies with stories of her conquests. A fierce protector of her friends, with a secret that could change everything.
