About this Event

The Northwestern community is invited to join us for the final installment of our 2025–26 graduate programming series: a mini-documentary screening and discussion featuring Craig Stevens, Anthropology PhD candidate and Buffett Dissertation Fellow. Produced by the Roberta Buffett Institute, the mini-documentary will showcase Stevens' unique research methodology.

Stevens’s work seeks to express anthropological and archaeological data through creative processes and immersive experiences. Through 3D digitization and innovative curatorial strategies, Stevens seeks to expose broad and diverse audiences to African and African Diasporic material culture. His research leverages technologies like virtual reality and photogrammetry to allow for African communities to meaningfully contribute to the interpretation and curation of their globally dispersed artifacts and cultural objects.

After the screening of this 15-minute documentary and audience Q&A, join us for a reception to close out the academic year in community with one another and learn more about the research and opportunities that Buffett’s graduate student funding can make possible.

Please note that 720 University Place is not an ADA-accessible space. Increasing physical access to buildings and facilities is a goal of the University, but not all buildings and venues have been updated.
