Join us for A Handwriting Hangout as we connect our shared interests and shared histories through the medium of handwriting. Let's reconnect with ourselves and one another through our personal penmanship. Each session explores a fun topic that will inspire and shape our handwriting for the hangout. We'll bring the supplies if you bring the creativity.

Light snacks will be offered each session.

Vision Board BINGO: Manifest your intentions for the new year using a visual reminder. But with a twist...and shout of BINGO! Join us to transform vision boards into bingo cards and seek out small wins that cumulate into larger victories.

Handwriting as Resistance: In honor of MLK Day, let's explore the handwritten moments in history captured during the Civil Rights Movement. Join us to review and reflect on historical documents that changed the course of history like the "I Have A Dream" speech, Birmingham Letters, and scribbles seen during the Movement. We'll use their experiences to inspire our own writings that can chart our own history.

LUV Letters: This Valentine's Day and Black History Month, we'll relish love between partners expressed through the letters they exchanged with one another, even at the times it was prohibited. Join us to learn stories of romance, respect, and desire through penmanship. We'll then pen luv letters to that special person(s).

Lucky Notes: Ever hear of wishing lanterns? Or wishing paper? Join us to explore quirky ways people write their way to better luck. We’ll recreate some of these handwritten techniques and hopefully increase our lucky odds.

ScriptHOPE is a local grassroots program catalyzing handwriting as a tool for identity, advocacy, and connectivity. We host Handwriting Hangouts for anyone that finds handwriting nostalgic or necessary, or both. It's an open space to script your story.
