Miss Julie is a complex play that examines social order and sexuality, largely focusing on John and Miss Julie’s relationship and their struggle to maintain integrity in the face of social mores. Over the course of a midsummer night, the unsettled daughter of aristocracy encourages her father's valet to seduce her. Originally written in 1888, this new adaptation modernizes the dialogue, while keeping the setting and time ambiguous enough to allow for contemporary interpretation.
Triggers: Suicide; drinking; smoking; animal cruelty.
Roles:
Miss Julie
Age: 20-30
Race: White
Gender: Female presenting
Physical Ability: Must be able to sit, walk and dance.
Mental Ability: Ability Neutral
Intimacy: Some rough handling by John and implied off-stage sex
Miss Julie is feminine and aristocratic, while also desiring her own downfall. Tough and headstrong, though a bit naïve about the world. Uses her sexuality and flirtatiousness. She has a dramatic breakdown in the latter half of the play.

Gender: Female presenting
Physical Ability: Must be able to sit, walk and dance.

The Thanksgiving Play follows four white individuals who are determined to create a politically correct First Thanksgiving play for Native American Heritage Month in schools. Logan, the director, hires an actress named Alicia, believing she is Native American, to provide cultural authenticity. However, it is soon revealed that Alicia is actually white and only portrays Native American characters when not playing other ethnicities. Without an authentic Native voice, Logan and her team are forced to confront the complexities of privilege while adhering to historical accuracy and school district rules. Meanwhile, they begin to understand the challenges of performative activism and of trying to address cultural issues without genuine understanding.
Triggers: Discussion of indigenous genocide.
