Celebrating 90 Years
The Atlanta Dogwood Festival is a long-standing Atlanta tradition, emphasizing art, music, and family entertainment. Artists from across the country participate in this premier spring festival, which attracts an average of 200,000 visitors annually. Consistently ranked among the top art shows in the U.S., the festival is recognized for its professional management and strong community and volunteer support.
General Information
Festival Dates & Times:
- Friday, April 10: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday, April 11: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Sunday, April 12: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Set-Up:
- Wednesday, April 8: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Thursday, April 9: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Each artist is assigned a load-in time. Details will be provided after acceptance.

Artists’ Participation
- Artists must be present for the entire festival.
- Only one artist may occupy a booth, unless it is a two-person collaboration, which is the maximum allowed.
- Agents, dealers, or representatives cannot attend in place of the artist.
- Exhibited work created by apprentices or employees is not allowed.
- All artists must present a Photo ID at check-in.
Standards
- All work must be original, professional quality, and produced by the artist.
- Exhibited work must match submitted images.
- Mechanically reproduced work (e.g., giclées, photo-offsets) must be labeled as “REPRODUCTION” and placed in browse bins. Framed reproductions may be hung on one wall only, not exceeding 10 linear feet.
- No mass-produced merchandise, items from commercial molds, hobby crafts, or buy-sell products.
- All displayed work must be for sale.
Non-compliance:
Artists failing to follow the rules or cooperate with staff may be removed. Misrepresentation may result in removal of work.
Parking & Safety Rules:
- Driving on grass or mulched areas is prohibited.
- No staking tents; all tents must be weighted.
- RVs, campers, or overnight sleeping are prohibited.
- No rollerblades, scooters, bicycles, or pets in the park.
- Artists are responsible for adhering to city ordinances and park regulations.
Festival Marketing
Marketing includes extensive pre-event advertising via print, radio, internet, television, and social media, as well as sponsor and patron promotions. During the festival, public relations efforts maintain media coverage. Participating artists may be invited to radio or television promotions.
Art Categories
Artists in exhibit work in the category accepted. Only original work or two-person collaborations are allowed.
- 2-D Mixed Media: Wall-hung artwork using two or more distinct media. Must be signed by the artist.
- 3-D Mixed Media: Three-dimensional work combining three or more materials.
- Clay: Original sculptural, decorative, or functional clay work. No mass production. Signed by the artist.
- Photography/Digital Art: Original photographs or computer-generated images printed via darkroom, ink-jet, or laser. Signed and numbered. No commercial photography.
- Drawing/Graphics/Printmaking: Original works using pen, pencil, charcoal, or traditional printmaking techniques. Signed and numbered.
- Fiber/Leather: Original fiber or leather-based artwork, including basketry, handmade paper, and weaving. Must be designed and sewn by the artist.
- Glass: Original sculptural or decorative glass work. No molds or mass production. Signed by the artist.
- Jewelry: Original jewelry using metals, gemstones, enamel, clay, glass, or fiber. No kits, costume, or mass-produced items.
- Metal: Original sculptural or decorative metal work. Signed by the artist.
- Painting – Oil/Acrylic: Original work using oils or acrylics, including collages or mixed techniques.
- Painting – Watercolor/Pastel: Original work using watercolor or pastels, including collages or mixed techniques.
- Wood: Original sculptural or decorative work primarily made of wood. Signed by the artist.
Jury Process
- Artists are selected based on design, quality, and presentation by an independent jury of art professionals.
- Artists are scored by category; highest scores are accepted, with a limited number per category.
- A waitlist is maintained for cancellations.
- Jury decisions are anonymous and final.
- Total booths: 260.
- Previous award winners are jury-exempt but must submit an application, images, and fees.
Digital Image Requirements
- Submit 3 images of artwork and 1 booth image.
- Images must be current (within 2 years).
- Booth image should exclude banners, names, or people.
- Compliance with image standards is required; failure may result in disqualification.
Awards
- Awards for “Best in Category” will be presented.
- Winners receive automatic invitation for next year and waiver of the 10’ x 10’ booth and application fees.
- Winners must still submit an application, images, and complete necessary steps.
Artist Services
- 24-hour/overnight security
- Vehicle loading/unloading at booth
- Hospitality tent with daily refreshments

Booth Information
- Standard booth: 10’ x 10’ white canopy.
- Some storage may be available depending on location.
- Corner, double, and electrical spaces are limited; priority given upon acceptance.
- All tents must be weighted for safety.
Sales Tax
- Artists are responsible for collecting 8.9% sales tax for Georgia and Fulton County.
- Tax forms provided in the check-in packet.
